Description of Classic Endurance Racing - 1000 Km of Nurburgring:
The Eifel is a region dear to classic car amateurs who are regularly found, since its inauguration in 1927, at the famous "Nordschleife" where the track of over 20km is the longest in the world. However since 1984, it is the modern 4.5km circuit built for F1, adjacent to the original, which holds the historic and modern competitions on a track which is considered, probably justly, as less dangerous. An air of nostalgia for the drivers in Classic Endurance Racing, who remember when the track record of 6 min 11s was set by Stefan Bellof in a Porsche 963, in the final 1000km race on the Grand/Original Circuit.
