A tribute to Lamborghini.

For its 7th edition, SpaItalia has selected one of the most prestigious brands of the automobile production: Lamborghini.

It is on July 1, 1963, in Sant' Agata, in the suburbs of Modena, that the adventure starts. The factory is only a huge empty building but the technical team is already at work: Giotto Bizzarrini, the "father" of the legendary Ferrari 250 GTO draws the engine. Gian-Paolo Dallara, a young engineer, comes from Maserati whereas Franco Scaglione is contacted to draw the body. It is a bull, which will be in the centre of the Lamborghini logo, and most of the models will bear the name of a bull race like Miura, Marzal, Uracco, Islero and more recently Gallardo.

Launched in 1964, the 350 GT is immediately recognised as of a higher level than its rivals but remains a failure from a commercial viewpoint. The diffusion remains confidential just like the notoriety of the young brand. In 1967 the firm released a prototype called Miura. It is the prelude of one of the most beautiful cars of all times. In 1970, appear the eight cylinders Urraco P 250 with central engine and the V12 Jarama 400 GT with two overhead camshafts. The Espada 400 GT and Miura P 400 SV follow it. But times are difficult and after the launch of the Countach LP 400 drawn by Bertone in 1972, Ferrucio Lamborghini sells its shares to a Swiss company and goes and installs himself in the area of Perugia to cultivate his vines and his memories. It is the beginning of a kind of economic wander. In 1987, Chrylser buys the brand but gets rid of it very quickly whereas the Diablo model is born, a superb car drawn by Marcello Gandini, the same one who drew the Miura in 1966 and the De Tomaso Pantera. In 1998, Lamborghini is transferred under the control of the Volkswagen-Audi group.

Finally recognized by its pairs and its country, the "Commendatore" Ferrucio Lamborghini will get out from its retirement place at the beginning of the Nineties until a heart attack puts an end to this extraordinary adventure in 1993. Today all the amateurs of cars of exceptions know Murcielago and Gallardo, which were declined in GT and spider. Ferruccio Lamborghini said at the eve of its career as car manufacturer: "My ambition is to build the most perfect Grand Tourism car of the world". The recent launch of the Reventon, model produced with 20 specimens only will not contradict the prophetic words of a manufacturer of farm tractors angry on the fragility of its... Ferrari.

The most known models of the brand will be gathered for this edition "Lamborghini" of SpaItalia. Like each year guests, the traditional activities, the large gathering of the clubs will be the framework of the event.
