Description of The Rally Show at Chatsworth:

:: The Rally Show at Chatsworth 2007 ran on 29/30 September. This was the first running of the event. It was devised by Malcolm Neill, who was responsible for organising the RAC Rally from 1986 to 1999; during those years, the RAC Rally often incorporated a special stage in the grounds of Chatsworth House.

:: This year, there were five actual rallies, catering for historic and modern cars, plus demonstrations of everything from historic ex-works rally cars to the latest in rally technology. In addition, there were extensive "stage sessions", in which people could enter their own cars and drive them - in a non-competitive situation - on the same stages.

:: Two asphalt stages were used - a shorter one of 1.17 miles on Saturday and a longer one of 1.79 miles on Sunday. The Chatsworth watersplash (from the old RAC stage) was used
on both stages, but was only filled with water on Sunday. The same basic plan for the stages will be adopted for 2008, with a couple of minor
changes. Both stages will be some 400 yards longer and the junction up by Chatsworth House (used on the Sunday stage) will run clockwise instead of anti-clockwise as it did this year.

:: Many rally stars turned out to support the 2007 Show; these included Paddy Hopkirk, Vic Elford, Tony Fall, Rauno Aaltonen, Bjorn Waldegard, Billy
Coleman, Russell Brookes, Martin Rowe, Steve Perez, Gwyndaf Evans and Guy Wilks.

:: Full details of the 2007 event and of our plans for 2008 are now on our new website at http://www.therallyshow.org, including photos and videos of the action.
