Lotus 23B #23-S-61
This race ready Lotus 23B was originally delivered to the UK with a 1600cc Twin Cam engine.
It arrived in the US shortly after and was raced in the 60's and 70" by Ed Cicotte. For some time it had a F1 Climax V8 with Colotti transmission and also a 2.0l BMW motor.
Cicotte sold the car in the 70's to Ed Dickenson, who continued racing the car with the BMW engine.
In the mid 80"s he began to convert the car back to a Lotus Twin Cam, but the project was never finished.
Mr. Dickenson died in 2002 and the car came to its current 4th owner. The restoration was then finished to original 23B specifications including the 1600 TC motor and Hewland 5-speed transmission.
The car has been successful raced since 2004 by it's current owner.
The MWE built Lotus has now less than 6 hours of running time and produces 195hp with 140ft/lbs of torque.
This stunningly beautiful and iconic race car is ready to be raced and comes with many spare parts.
The car is in the USA.
